Cookie Policy
Start playingThis policy explains how Winrolla uses cookies and similar technologies on winrolla.app. We set a small number of cookies to keep the site working smoothly, and third parties whose tools we embed may set their own. You control whether to accept them, and we'll walk you through what each type does and how to turn them off if you prefer.
Cookies in plain terms
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a site. It lets us recognise you when you return, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used. Most cookies expire when you close your browser; others persist until a set date or until you delete them manually.
Cookies do not access anything else on your device. They store only the information the site itself writes to them — a session identifier, a language preference, the fact you dismissed a banner.
What is stored and for how long
We categorise cookies by their purpose. The table below sets out each type, what it does, and how long it lasts.
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Keep the site navigable and secure — session state, load balancing, fraud prevention | Session or up to 24 hours |
| Analytics | Measure traffic, popular pages, and where visitors leave — aggregated and anonymised | Up to 2 years |
| Marketing | Track which external links you followed to reach us, for attribution and campaign performance | Up to 90 days |
| Preference | Remember your language choice, dismissed notices, and layout preferences | Up to 1 year |
Necessary cookies run automatically — without them the site cannot maintain your session or route requests correctly. The others require your consent, which we ask for through the banner you see on your first visit.
Embedded third parties
We embed tools from other organisations to analyse traffic and attribute referrals. Those providers may set their own cookies when you interact with their components — typically analytics platforms and advertising networks. We do not control what those cookies contain or how long they persist; each provider publishes its own cookie policy.
The third parties we work with include Google Analytics for traffic measurement and various affiliate networks for attribution. If you accept marketing cookies, those services may place identifiers that track your journey from an external link to our pages.
Declining without breaking the site
You have three levels of control: the banner when you first arrive, your browser's own settings, and purpose-built blocking software.
The consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all optional ones, or pick categories individually. Necessary cookies remain active regardless — they exist to keep the site functional, not to track you. Declining analytics and marketing cookies costs you nothing in usability; we simply measure less and attribute fewer referrals.
Your browser can block or delete cookies entirely. The steps vary by platform:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → Block third-party cookies, or See all site data and permissions to manage individual domains.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → choose Standard, Strict, or Custom; click Manage Data to remove specific entries.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Block all cookies, or Manage Website Data to review and delete by site.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Blocking all cookies may stop you logging into services that rely on session state. Third-party blocking leaves most functionality intact while cutting off external trackers.
Dedicated tools such as Ghostery and Privacy Badger identify and block tracking cookies automatically, giving you finer control than the browser's blanket setting allows.
Updates
We may revise this policy when we change how cookies are used or when regulation requires it. The date at the foot of the page shows when it was last updated. Significant changes — new categories, new third parties, longer retention — will be announced through a notice on the site, and we will ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you disagree with a change, adjust your browser settings or stop visiting.
